Privacy Policy

Effective date: May 2026  ·  The Last Desk iOS App

The short version: The Last Desk does not collect, transmit, or store any of your data on external servers. Everything stays on your device or in your personal iCloud account. We have no access to your case records at any time.

1. Overview

The Last Desk is a standalone iOS application for independent funeral directors. It is built around the principle that sensitive records about real people and real families should remain under the direct control of the professional responsible for them.

This privacy policy explains what data the app handles, where it is stored, and what we do and do not do with it.

2. Data We Collect

None. The Last Desk does not transmit any personal data, case records, usage statistics, or diagnostic information to external servers operated by The Last Desk or any third party.

The app does not require you to create an account. There is no login, no registration, and no data submission of any kind to our systems.

3. Data Stored on Your Device

All information you enter into the app — case records, deceased details, family contacts, task lists, notes, documents, dates, supplier details, payment records, and fleet information — is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework.

This data is held within the app's private storage sandbox and is not accessible to other apps. It is included in your device backups (encrypted, via iCloud Backup or iTunes) in the same way as any other app data.

4. iCloud Sync

If you choose iCloud Drive as your storage provider in the app's Settings, case data and attached documents are synchronised across your devices via your personal Apple iCloud account.

5. Third-Party Document Storage

The app allows you to attach documents to case records by importing files from the iOS Files app, which may include Dropbox, OneDrive, Google Drive, Box, or other connected storage providers.

When you import a file, a copy is saved within the app's local storage. The original file in the third-party provider is not modified. Access to third-party providers is handled entirely through the iOS Files framework — The Last Desk does not communicate directly with Dropbox, OneDrive, or any other provider's servers.

Use of third-party storage services is governed by the respective provider's privacy policy.

6. Analytics and Tracking

The app contains no analytics SDKs, no advertising frameworks, no crash reporting services, and no usage tracking of any kind. We do not know how you use the app, how often you open it, or what you do inside it.

7. App Store and Apple

The Last Desk is distributed through the Apple App Store. Apple collects certain information as part of the App Store experience — including purchase records and device identifiers used for in-app purchase verification. This is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

The app uses Apple's StoreKit framework to verify in-app purchase entitlements. This process does not expose any case data or personal information to Apple beyond what Apple already collects as part of the App Store transaction.

8. Camera

The app requests access to your device camera only when you use the document scanning feature. Camera access is used solely to capture document images within the app. Images are converted to PDF and saved to the relevant case record on your device. No images are transmitted externally.

9. Notifications

The app may request permission to send local notifications for upcoming service dates and fleet expiry reminders. These notifications are generated on-device by the app and are not sent through any external notification service. No data is transmitted in order to deliver these reminders.

10. Data Retention and Deletion

You are in full control of your data at all times. To delete all case data, use the "Clear all data" option in Settings → Data. To delete individual records, use the standard swipe-to-delete or in-app delete options throughout the app.

Deleting the app from your device removes all locally stored data. If iCloud sync is enabled, you can manage iCloud data via your device's iCloud settings.

Because we do not hold your data on any external server, there is nothing for us to delete on your behalf.

11. Children

The Last Desk is a professional tool intended for use by funeral service professionals. It is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 18.

12. Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes in a material way, the updated version will be published at this URL with a revised effective date. Given the nature of the app — no data collection, no servers — significant changes are unlikely.
